The Government has come up with the National Wind-Solar Hybrid policy. The goal of the policy is to reach a wind-solar hybrid capacity of 10 GW by 2022.
The draft policy aims to facilitate hybridisation of existing solar or wind systems, besides new hybrid projects. It aims at providing a framework to promote large grid connected wind-solar PV system for optimal and efficient utilisation of transmission infrastructure among others. The policy aims to encourage new technologies, methods and way-outs involving combined operation of wind and solar PV plants.
